Good news, iOS 7 jailbreakers: the team of hackers behind the Evasi0n7 jailbreak for iOS 7 has updated its software to support the latest publicly available version of Apple’s mobile operating system. Just over a week ago, Apple surprised us all with the release of iOS 7.0.5. The new software build, which is thought to be the final iOS 7 update Apple plans to issue ahead of its iOS 7.1 release, was made available only for iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c handsets in certain regions including Asia Pacific and Europe. Now, users in those regions with jailbroken handsets can finally update their phones without worrying about losing access to all those great unauthorized apps and tweaks.

The first time I heard the term “Jailbreak” I thought it was a spin-off of the popular TV series “Prison Break.” I’m sure you already know that jailbreak has nothing to do with physical prisons in any way. Instead it is related to the prison built inside your iPhone’s by Apple. Jailbreaking iPhone 5 will give users an opportunity to run apps and other software which isn’t created or sanctioned by Apple on their devices. These apps usually use more hardware on the iPhone than regular apps and that is why Apple is so strongly against them. What I can’t understand though is why Apple is still against jailbreaking after all these years when it has been proven that jailbreaking does nothing except improve the functionality of Apple devices.
Anyway, once you jailbreak your iPhone 5, you will gain access to a wide range of applications which aren’t available on the iTunes store. There will be a new application installed on your iPhone by the name of Cydia. This is basically your new iTunes store for all the applications which weren’t “good enough” to make it to Apple’s store. This doesn’t mean that these apps are useless though. In fact, some of them can be quite handy and far better than the options available to you in the iTunes store.
Another major advantage of jailbreaking your iPhone is that you get to switch your cellular service provider as and when you feel like. You can keep jumping from one provider to another every month if you feel the need. You will no longer be tied down to a single provider and this gives you an opportunity to negotiate better calling rates and more free minutes for yourself. Isn’t that awesome?
Apple has been spreading a lot of rumors about jailbreaking iPhones saying that it is not good for the hardware and that the warranty is voided once the phone is jailbroken. Unfortunately for them, you can easily restore a jailbroken iPhone device by resetting it or updating it or even syncing it with the iTunes store. Once you restore your iPhone, no one, not even Apple’s technicians will be able to tell that your phone was jailbroken. And since no one has reported any problems with their iPhones because they jailbroke them, I think it’s safe to say that jailbreaking doesn’t do too much harm to your smart phone. That being said, it’s time for you to give jailbreaking a try. Are you sick and tired of seeing the same boring home screen every time you look at your iPhone 4S? Maybe it’s time for a change? Jailbreak your iPhone today.
Here in Southern California something is always blooming. I’m not sure what kind of flower this is, some kind of lilac I think. I love the tiny, delicate purple blooms. Every time I see it I think it would make a good macro Monday post, so here it is. I used an Olloclip macro lens and staged the setting against a neutral background. It was an overcast day so the light was bright and soft. I edited it using Snapseed.
So we obviously know absolutely nothing about the new iPhone 6. We have no specs, no idea what size screen it will have and no idea if sapphire glass will be used for the display. We don’t know if it will be thinner, have smaller bezels or a higher megapixel camera. We know absolutely nothing about the new iPhone 6. But man, this video sure shows a lot of what we would love to see in an iPhone 6. Have a look below.
